A Letter from the editor

Dear Readers,

Equal light, equal dark.

This time invites us to reflect on what is in alignment or needs balance in our lives. As we break away from the old, tired vestiges of colonialism, we face a present bereft with climate change, fascist rhetoric and violent patriarchy trying to hold on to what little power it can hold onto.

Entering this autumnal season, we gather our energies to turn more inward and hold our heads high as priestesses of our own holy path. Nevermind the laws which attempt to govern our bodies, we answer to a higher being and mother earth never fails to remind humankind of its fragility and humble position in the universe.

This is a time to revere what we have been able to reap from what we have sown, to grieve loved ones old and new and while observing loss, recognize the abundance of life that continues. Allow these old bones to dance, hear the intensity of your heart beat and feel the power of yoni sing; for it is the very femininity that is being persecuted which threatens cocky dictators and those that declare “witch” when it is really, deep wisdom that they cower from

As the rain falls, the world seems to grow quiet, breaking down elements that will be transformed beneath the soil. Do you believe in transformation? As a necessary part of rebirth, we must withdraw and compost, creating energy that gives off heat while creatures of decomposition change our matter and renew us into resource.

Enjoy it while you can. As the nights grow longer, demand a pensive look into where you are coming from and where you’ll be going.
