there in the cold dark dirt
alone?

Does the fruit remember the pollen
(germination, a sprouting fourth, to give birth, to beget) -
Does the seed know the code of its growth
how it must push push push
through fire or ice, mud or sand
to a light it that might not exist
to air that might not be home?
Does a seed remember when it was part of the whole?
Do you remember floating in your mother
In the dark just the beat of her heart drum?
Does the seed hear the rhythms of their mother?
Did you find the light and the air?
