<image:title>Back - The Witchy Report was founded by blue witch Remedy Leen, to amplify the voices of witches known and unknown, as a seasonal forecast from witches’ perspectives. It offers content on all things witchy: divination, rituals, herbalism, astrology as well as any and everything in between. This quarterly zine intends to counter historical systemic suppression of the divine feminine and witchy practices, providing an alternative to harmful patriarchal news with viewpoints that provide a decolonialist and anti-oprressive objective that acknowledges biases do exist and all voices deserve a chance to be heard. It is our intention to uphold healing practices for the upliftment and liberation of all sentient beings. It is an honor to have the privilege to share this abundant knowledge and creative wisdom from witches worldwide who have chosen to bestow us with their gifts. <image:caption>Jupiter is associated with: long journeys and travel, world cultures/indigenous people, what is natural, beliefs, rituals, symbolism, personal narrative and group narrative, adventure, search for meaning, search for truth, inner journey, higher education, teachers and professors, higher mind, theories, religion, spirituality, growth, expansion, overindulgence, luxury, alignment, luck, change of fate, the collection of the past/present/future Saturn is associated with: restrictions, delays, long term goals, old age, maturity, wisdom, mastery, leadership, public position, career, authority figures, government, the law, spiritual law, morality, judgement, karma, consequences, responsibility, the majority of society, our collective body, the status quo, societal conditioning, the world as a whole, the structures and institutions that hold up the world The Aquarius archetype is associated with: air travel, fast travel, speed, the elite and elitism, avant garde, intellectualism, technology, electricity, innovation, the future, the next generation, the mind, the brain and nerves, astrology, the study of science, space, things not of this world, different dimensions of phenomena, the rebels of society, expanding laws to include more of humanity and nature, progressivism, the power of the collective, activism for society especially those left out or harmed by the status quo, liberation, freedom, society as a whole, the ideal, our biggest dreams, group power over individual power and individual leadership, groups of like-minded people, the tribe, friendships, communal support, the astral plane, the ethereal or energetic body, frequencies When you put these things together it can certainly give us reasons to hope. Are we beginning to understand the nature (Jupiter) of our reality (Saturn) through the different dimensions (Aquarius)? Will we have a change of fate (Jupiter) in our world structures (Saturn) for the good of society (Aquarius)? Will we start to see the consequences (Saturn) of our spiritual beliefs (Jupiter) and how they affect the greater good (Aquarius)? To be fair, it could just as well be the growth (Jupiter) of government (Saturn) through science or technology (Aquarius). Or the limitation (Saturn) of international (Jupiter) air travel (Aquarius). We’re the ones who ultimately write the story, the planets just open the gates of possibility. Of all of the possibilities that hold great potential, the one I find most exciting is that the planet of spiritual law (Saturn) and the planet of truth/what is natural (Jupiter) could help us in our collective push back towards matriarchal law – our natural law, and away from the harm patriarchy has had on our planet and bodies. Just imagine that we could lose our taste for imposed hierarchies based on systems of oppression. Is the feeling that remains what freedom feels like? We’ve been saying that the future is femme. Is our past, present, and future (Jupiter) colliding with our reality (Saturn) sooner than we realize? It's great to look out on this great sky of possibilities and dream about what could be. COVID19 forced us all into our homes and in that way the entire world was under one long winter. Most of us who could, clung to what comfort we could find and bunkered down. As our work life/home life balance shifted, so has our social pretense. You’re a different person when you’re in your own space. Our homes represent our families, our place of security, our place of unconditional support, and our own identity. We were all made to go inside and sit with what was there, draw our attention to it. Our collective time-out forced us to reflect on seasons passed to see what was working in our “before lives,” and what really wasn’t. Some people thrived this year, and some flailed, sinking deeper into the abyss. If you’re like me, you may have experienced some of both in different ways. Either way, we are all a lot clearer about who and what we value and what we truly need. Real life 20/20 vision! The ruler of Aquarius, Uranus, is in the sign of Taurus – which represents our individual values. Our self-worth, our gifts, our beauty, our senses, our pleasure, our material needs, our assets and security, our bounty, the earth, the land, the body, the woman. After centuries of colonial and patriarchal belief systems that value mind more than feelings, and spirit more than the body, maybe we are finally seeing a push towards more balance. The growth (Jupiter) of wisdom (Saturn) through liberation (Aquarius) by changing (Uranus) our values (Taurus). The rise of the Buddha, the Christ, the old souls and ancient ones. Now that Neptune is in its home sign of Pisces (until 2025), we are witnessing our greatest illusions and delusions wreak havoc on us before we find the creativity and compassion to replace them with a new consciousness. While squinting into the night this solstice I’ll be thinking about what it all means. Both planets and the sign involved in the grand conjunction relate to the most mature of the fire, earth, and air signs. There’s certainly more on the table about now. But superpowers? Can people here evolve into other-worldly beings? There are certain indigenous cosmologies that suggest we have origins elsewhere. But regardless of whether any of us will get to levitate in unison, we can all choose to aim higher, together. This winter we’re to reflect on the rise of the tribes and what that looks like for us and the amazing potential it holds. Grand Rising indeed. Robhyne K. Allow the neck to lengthen and the chin to float slightly above the ground. Option to use a blanket underneath forearms for slightly more lift. <image:caption>With props set exactly as in the previous pose, Sit with your hips at the base of the bolster on the ground. Bring your legs to create a “V” and then allow the soles of your feet to meet in the middle. Gently recline back onto the bolster. Option to roll a blanket to wrap around your ankles to allow your inner thighs to relax. It is suggested to hold this pose for at least 5 minutes. This hip opener cultivates inner nourishment as the body slowly opens and finds rest. Consider finding an extended exhale while in this position, a breath count ratio of maybe 1:2. Breathe and be.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Herbs - Making Medicine</image:title>
<image:caption>Here is a super simple recipe in which the herbalist does not want credit. Other plants can be used that enhance what plantain does and that is part of traditional herbalism. Sending the start of a journey as they honor themselves as a learner. HOW TO MAKE PLANTAIN SALVE Dry your freshly foraged plantain leaves Use a dehydrator, oven or air dry (see above for more info). This may take around 24 hours, or you can purchase already dried plantain leaves. Make your plantain oil Crumble the dried leaves into a clean glass jar. Cover with olive oil and mix gently. Place the jar in a small pan of cold water. Place on the hob and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook gently for 2 hours. Carefully remove the jar from the hot water, and pour the contents through a piece of muslin over a sieve into a clean bowl. When it is cool enough to handle, wring the herbs out, extracting all the oil you can. Make your plantain salve Place an old, clean jar or pot on electronic kitchen scales. Don’t use your favourite pot for this as you’re unlikely to ever get it fully clean again! Pour in 100g of the plantain oil. Zero out the scales, then add in 15g of organic beeswax pellets. Place the jar carefully back into the pan of hot water and stir until the wax has melted. Pour the liquid salve into small clean jars or tins. Let cool thoroughly before popping on the lid & don’t forget to label! WHAT DO YOU USE PLANTAIN SALVE FOR? This is what it gets used for in our family: Flea, horsefly or mosquito bites Stinging nettle stings Spider bites Dry, chapped skin Grazes, scratches and small cuts Rough or cracked skin Rashes and inflamed skin Softens and heals scabs On pets, if they have scabs, small sores or irritated skin Recipe lifted from: @hedgecomber as recommended by Anonymous Source</image:caption>

She's traditionally the wife of the Leshy, the Slavic forest god. Just as one can in a forest, it's easy to get lost in another person. That's a burial of sorts that no one, sometimes not even the one who's lost themselves, may ever know about—unless they manage to find themselves again and reawaken. <image:title>Editorial - Dear Readers,</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome to the end of 2021. Unearth the deep truths that may have been buried throughout this year. Believe you are capable. Believe you are vulnerable. Believe you are powerful. As we draw 2021 to a close I invite you to enjoy this first anniversary issue of The Witchy Report, “Unknown Burials.” This theme was born from the idea that deep truths sometimes lie within deep mystery. On the shortest day of the year, we observe the darkness, when we can take this opportunity to take in the wisdom that the dark times have offered. What has the darkness incubated within it’s rich soil? How patient have we been with the trials and tribulations of this tumultuous year!? What was required of you to persevere? And what now grows towards the light? Here, I present to you a collection of poetry and images that expand on the notion of Unknown Burials, of the cycle between the dark and the light and the eternal cosmic universe that lies between. In loving warmth, Remedy the Blue Solstice Drawing by Julianne Wise About the artist: Julianne Wise is an artist living in St. Louis, MO. I am a multi-disciplined artist and run a small screen printing shop as well. My art involves ideas of esoteric, nature and folk art symbols. <image:caption>Body Magic According to the Seasons We hold a dream for all humans; that they know with full certainty the magic that is inside of us. We want you all to know how to use it as a resource for healing, manifesting…full on LIVING. Of course, other non-humans have this magic, but we don’t think they need our help. Humans need reminding that our true nature is a divine and sacred one. Our divinity is expressed in the macro and micro movements of our physical bodies. Do you feel it? Are you connected to your magic? Whether or not you believe it, your magic knows it is connected to YOU. It wants to be expressed through you and by you. Magic is always whispering to you reminding you of your desires, your dreams. It longs to be used. It makes its presence known in the racing of your heart when you get excited about something. Or when you get a funny feeling in your stomach, a signal alerting you to pay attention. Magic is present when you laugh with pure joy and scream-cry from pain or grief. As you can see, it is always moving through you. Let’s play a game right now that proves this to be true. Imagine your favorite meal or dessert. See it from a distance. Now start to zoom in on it. Get close to it. What do you smell? Make it mouth-wateringly perfect in your mind. Think of how it tastes. Believe that the most delicious experience awaits. Are you smiling? Is your tummy rumbling in anticipation? Congratulations! You have just created a vision of desire so strong and so resonant that your body and mind felt it to be real. This is, in part, a demonstration of your magical nature, but also a small practice of manifestation magic. If you can imagine it you can experience it as if it is happening in that moment, bringing your desire closer to your immediate reality. This experience can be influenced by the turning of the seasons. We also want humans to remember how inextricably connected to Nature we are. Humans are physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually influenced by the seasons, the temperatures, weather conditions…all aspects of Nature. Each quality adds a nuance to your magical energy. For example, want to let go of bad habits? Use the wind to blow them away or if it’s winter use the season's death vibe to give those worn-out patterns a funeral. There are so many ways to dance with the strands that bond our humanity to our planet’s wisdom. Doing so is both healing and empowering. Let us prove it to you. The Wild Empress Coven wants you to hang out with us! This coven was founded by 4 women, therapists, coaches, herbalists, somatic educators, movers and shakers. The high priestesses of this coven encompass so much and long to show all that you embody. This is a safe space based on respect and consent. ALL are welcome. Please sign up for our newsletter, so that you never miss an event. Email us at: wildempresscoven@gmail.com No matter how much darkness there is in the world we have light that can be used to fight itl The Ukraine invasion, Afghan women being oppressed (again), the fight for abortion, the epidemic threat of violence towards trans/black/native/asian/minority lives, the sufferings of the persecuted are deep and scarring wounds on our world and shared humanity. We can shift this heinous paradigm and support others. Join us in igniting your spark, harnessing the energy of this new season and getting closer to what we want to manifest. Your body, your nervous system and your spirit crave it. Let’s combine forces to keep the light shining where it is most needed. As above, so below. <image:caption>“Big Red Moon is run by Em, a non-binary chaos witch who does tarot/oracle readings in the St. Louis area. Their practice is based in deconstructing their colonized upbringing, fighting the oppressors of this world, and donating 10% of their profits to an indigenous charity as they do their practice on stolen land. They use deep meditation practices to look past the veil and see the images they draw. Lately they have been moving their art practice to encompass sigils and mantras. They put intentional spell work into every line so that the piece is magic to be seen, felt and passed through the viewer. Find their artwork and when/where they have their tarot booth at markets in the St. Louis area through Instagram: @bigredmoon_”</image:caption>

The meaning of the word yoni in Sanskrit means “womb” or “source.” Mudra means “gesture” or “seal” and is typically used during meditation for healing energy. Bring your hands together and keeping your index fingers and thumbs touching curl. The other fingers. With index finger pointing downwards relax your hand and take deep slow breaths.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Variation 2: Sarva Yoni mudra The Yoni mudra can be described as a gesture that allows a person to get detached from the chaos of the outer existing world. Yoni means uterus or womb and this gesture is named the Yoni Mudra, because the person who practices it regularly has no external contact with the world, pretty much like a baby in the uterus. The yogis who practice this mudra visualize all their chakras. They also are in sync with their inner sounds. Scriptures state that after practicing the yoni mudra, right-handed people will hear the inner sounds in their right ear and left-handed people will hear the sounds in their left ear.The 5 fingers of the hands represent</image:caption>

<image:caption>Maintaining a state of mental clarity and relaxation Attaining spiritual calmness and mental development Sit comfortably in a chair or cross legged on the floor. Close your eyes and take a few long deep inhalations and exhalations to relax. Sarva-anandamaya (filled with all Bliss) enclosure of Sri Cakra is the abode of this mudra-sakti. This is also known by the name kama kala. Kama suggests the proactive Brahman principle (sabala brahma) which is as slender as the (iksana) with a resolve to expand; kala implies the infinite empirical universe unfolded from kameswara. Prakasa-vimarsa aspects of siva-sakti fill this enclosure. Aim is the bija mantra of this mudra sakti that is saving the seeker from the consequential deficiencies arising out of the errors of omission and commission in his approach for self-realization. This mudra is presented by joining and holding folding both the little fingers (kanishtika) upwards, holding the ring finger of the right hand on that of the left hand and hold them with the pointing fingers(tarjani), joining the middle fingers (madhyama) and joining the thumbs (angusta) and little fingers (kanishtika) pointing downwards as shown in the above photographs.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Variation 3: Shanmukhi Mudra How to Do Yonimudra Step by Step and Benefits of Yoni Mudra This is a technique which is meant to facilitate training in the practice of Pratyahara or abstraction, with the aim of withholding the conscious mind from soliciting sensory perceptions. The word Yoni signifies the Ultimate Brahman of Brahmayoni. This unique psycho-physical technique of The Yoga Institute draws inspiration from a tortoise, which withdraws its limbs inside its shell the moment it perceives a danger, in order to conserve energy. Same is with our senses; it goes on receiving unnecessary and uncontrolled impulses, dissipating mental energy. Starting position: Sit in Padmasana or any other meditative posture. If not possible to sit on the floor, sit on a firm chair with an erect backrest. Keep the body above the waist straight and the spine erect. Eyes closed.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The sequence of steps for Yoni Mudra: Place your thumbs on the ears and the index fingers resting gently on the eyelashes. Place the middle fingers on the respective nostrils. The ring fingers are placed above the lips and the little fingers below them. Ensure that your elbows are at shoulder level, parallel to the ground. Passively observe the breath. The mind may wander to other thoughts but gently bring it back to the breathe. Recommended practice: Practice daily in the morning / during the day, as required. Maintain the mental state for as long as possible. Limitations / Contraindications: Psychological disorder – depression. Benefits of Yoni Mudra: Helps the mind to withdraw the senses–reduces unnecessary mind chatter. Provides the required pause–needed for a change of perception. Greatly aids in bringing a distracted mind to attentiveness. Brings clarity of thought. Brings about peace and harmony. Source: The Yoga Institute</image:caption>
